Flensburg chapter of the Hell’s Angels and the Neumünster chapter of the Bandidos were being banned

Flensburg chapter of the Hell’s Angels and the Neumünster chapter of the Bandidos were being banned on the grounds they were a threat to the constitutional order. Some 300 police officers, including crack special forces commandos, raided 10 properties of gang members along with the club houses of the two chapters in Flensburg and Neumünster.“The searches were for the purposes of investigation, seizure and recovery of the clubs’ property,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The two clubs had “the essential aim of setting up criminal mastery over a specific region and to enforce the claim to power against the other club with violence using weapons,” Schlie said.“This isn’t about harmless motorcycle clubs whose members meet peacefully on the weekends,” he said.
The image of respectable, motorcycling fathers who simply liked to ride in their spare time was a “public relations myth of these clubs,” Schlie said. Two clubs erupted into open warfare last year after the Bandidos tried to get a foothold in Germany’s northern-most state, where nine Hells Angels clubs and crews are located.

Seattle Criminal Defense: Seattle cop who shot Hells Angel says department failed, maligned him

Seattle Criminal Defense: Seattle cop who shot Hells Angel says department failed, maligned him: "police detective who shot a Hells Angels gang member during a fight at a South Dakota bar is suing the City of Seattle claiming Police Department management maligned him in the days following the shooting.
At issue in the suit, filed late Monday in King County Superior Court, are comments made by then-Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske in the days following the shooting, as well as an erroneous claim made by police investigators that Detective Ronald Smith was armed with a department pistol when he shot and wounded a Hells Angel during the Sturgis motorcycle rally."

Province reworks gang colour law after court loss to Hells Angel - News - The Prince Albert Daily Herald

Province reworks gang colour law after court loss to Hells Angel - News - The Prince Albert Daily Herald: "law was successfully challenged by a member of the Hells Angels who was charged in 2007 for wearing his gang colours in a Saskatoon bar.
The judge on the case ruled that the law violates a person's right to freedom of expression, adding it was too broad in some areas and not specific enough in others.
Huyghebaert says the changes include expanding the definition of “gang colours” to identify specific gangs by name.
The changes would also lower what was a $10,000 maximum fine and remove the one year in jail for a first-time conviction."

Hells Angel Road Master: Man tied to Hells Angels gets 10 years

Hells Angel Road Master: Man tied to Hells Angels gets 10 years: "Lloyd MacDonald, 39, was handed the sentence Thursday after admitting to possessing 11 guns — including a fully automatic Ingram submachine gun and an Uzi machine gun — along with ammunition and drugs in what a federal prosecutor described as a York Street stash house.
The guns and drugs were uncovered during a two-and-a-half-year undercover operation by the province’s Biker Enforcement Unit that wrapped up in January with the arrest of MacDonald and seven others, including full-patch Hells Angels and Ontario Nomads member Mario “Five Cent” Sincennes and hangaround Craig Haines.'"

Bikers Of America, Know Your Rights!: Biker clubhouse demolition a ‘Hell’ of a job

Bikers Of America, Know Your Rights!: Biker clubhouse demolition a ‘Hell’ of a job: "former Hells Angels clubhouse in Oshawa, Ont. was demolished on March 30. A crowd of civilians, as well as a helicopter, were also there to observe the demo job by Priestly Demolition of Aurora, Ont.
For members of the Durham Regional Police Service who observed the demolition, the building stood as a symbol of defiance to authority.
“This really is a symbol of criminal activity and organized crime, basically snubbing their nose at the community and saying ‘we’re here and we’re not going anywhere and you can’t make us go anywhere,’ and now they’re gone,” Durham Regional Police Service Chief Mike Ewles told Oshawa This Week.
For Oshawa Mayor John Gray, the razing of the clubhouse was an answer to his long-standing request to have the structure demolished.
Some citizens of Oshawa said they were relieved to see the house torn down, while residents of a house next door told local media that the owners had been good neighbours.
For the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, the demolition represented the success of the province’s Civil Remedies Act.
The property was seized by the Province in 2006 under the Act. A civil court order was obtained on September 26, 2006, to temporarily take control of the property that was, according to the Ministry “among other things, allegedly used to sell alcohol illegally.” The Act allows the province to seize such properties and assets, and if allegations are proved, to dispose of them and then to distribute the proceeds to victims of crime, or to fund law enforcement activities."

Hells Angels' 'tech guy' jailed 10 years - Crime - Canoe.ca

Hells Angels' 'tech guy' jailed 10 years - Crime - Canoe.ca: "The 'right-hand man' of the deputy of a Hells Angels cocaine ring admitted Thursday to possessing an arsenal of guns and plotting to take over small-town drug trade.
Lloyd MacDonald, a 39-year-old P.E.I. native with no criminal record, was sentenced to 10 years after pleading guilty to 24 charges, including conspiring with more than a dozen people to traffic cocaine.
He's the first to plead among those nabbed in January after a 30-month probe by the joint forces biker enforcement unit.
Investigators believed an Ottawa-based cell of the Hells Angels' elite Nomads was trying to take over the cocaine trade in Brockville, Gananoque and Prescott, prosecutor Allyson Ratsoy said.
It was allegedly headed by full-patch member Mario Sincennes, along with 'club hangaround' Craig Haines.
Investigators described MacDonald as Haines' 'right-hand man' and the 'tech guy' who encrypted the group's BlackBerrys and had a bug detector.
It didn't prevent police from using wire taps and drug and cash seizures to confirm a pattern of deliveries between Ottawa and mid-level dealers in Brockville."

Tulsa World: Man shot at reputed motorcycle gang hangout identified

Tulsa World: Man shot at reputed motorcycle gang hangout identified: "found Russell Doza, 49, lying on the floor. Authorities said Doza retrieved a gun from a nearby bookshelf and turned toward the deputies. Three deputies fired shots and Doza died at the scene. The search warrant stemmed from claims that meth and marijuana activity was taking place in the area, officials said. Deputies also arrested two men, Scott Lee Sollars, 54, and Albert Dee Ahlfinger, 49.
Sollars is being held at the Tulsa Jail on complaints including possessing a firearm after the commission of a felony, eluding a police officer and obstructing an officer. Doza had 'parted from' his family several years ago and moved between towns in northeastern Oklahoma. He sometimes stayed at the clubhouse while passing through Tulsa, said a friend, Ramona Gregory. Gregory met Doza in the mid-'80s while riding motorcycles with her former husband. Doza had a beard, long hair and developed a strong bond with fellow riders, Gregory said. 'He was a gypsy kind of guy. He didn't have a place to call his own – he had his brothers,' she said. 'The club was his family"

Al Jazeera English - GENERAL - Denmark's gang war

Al Jazeera English - GENERAL - Denmark's gang war: "bloody gang war between bikers and youths of immigrant origin has shattered Copenhagen's customary calm, prompting officials into threatening draconian legislation.
The latest street violence was sparked in August 2008 when a young Turkish man was killed, supposedly by a member of the Hells Angels group.
Since then, the conflict has left dozens dead or wounded - some innocent bystanders.
In DEPTH
For Kim Kliver, the head of the National Investigation Centre in Copenhagen, the gang war is criminal, not racial, in its origin.
'Basically it is the control of the criminal markets, that means the narcotics markets, that means the trafficking of human beings into prostitution and the money they can earn on these criminal activities,' Kliver says.
But, not everyone agrees that the violence is part of a turf war over organised crime. Some see race and the so-called 'integration problem' as the chief cause.
Khaled Ramadan, an academic, artist and journalist, says that second and third generation immigrants are feeling frustrated by the Danish establishment.

'... The establishment has a problem. The media is basically booming the problem and the street is already in trouble and frustration. Frustration [leads to] revolution. It [leads to] crime. It [leads to] antagonism.'"

Dreamland Park murderer dies: LeRoy S. Stoltzfus was serving life term | Crime, Law Enforcement & Corrections > Criminal Offenses from AllBusiness.com

Dreamland Park murderer dies: LeRoy S. Stoltzfus was serving life term Crime, Law Enforcement & Corrections > Criminal Offenses from AllBusiness.com: "Stoltzfus had served 40 years of a life sentence for the Aug. 13, 1969, fi rst-degree murder of 18-year-old Marilyn H. Sheckler of Murraysville, Westmoreland County.
State police said Stoltzfus and several other members of the Pagans motorcycle gang abducted Sheckler and her boyfriend, Glenn W. Eckert, 20, of Robesonia, from a parked car at a lookout point on Skyline Drive on Mount Penn.
Investigators said the men took turns raping Sheckler and later killed her and Eckert in Dreamland Park, a shuttered amusement park on Pricetown Road in Ruscombmanor Township.
The motorcycle gang had a clubhouse at the park, and some of them were staying there at the time of the slayings.
Sheckler was choked and struck on the head with a large rock, according to court testimony. Eckert was shot.
The only other person convicted in the case was Robert J. Martinolich, of Selden, N.Y., who is serving a life sentence at the state prison at Laurel Highlands in Somerset.
Martinolich, who is 63 years old, was convicted of the fi rstdegree murder of Eckert.
Testimony during the trials in 1970 revealed that about a half-dozen members of the motorcycle gang spent the night at the Kutztown Fair and then drove around the city looking for women."

Financier boasted of his ties to bikers - thestar.com

Financier boasted of his ties to bikers - thestar.com: "Nazim Gillani, who partied and discussed government grants with former MP Rahim Jaffer, has talked a lot about being a banker for the Hells Angels in Vancouver.
Gillani boasted of this to people in Toronto who crossed him, and Friday two people affiliated with the organized crime group said they were happy to see Gillani leave British Columbia.
Gillani ran afoul of the biker group for talking too much about what he was doing – he told people he was laundering money. He left B.C. in 2005, shortly after he received a severe beating, though not from a member of the Hells Angels.
A man who claimed he was owed $150,000 by Gillani spotted the dodgy financier coming out of Smiley O'Neils pub in Vancouver. The man, who spoke to the Star Friday – he does not want his name used because he was never investigated by police for the beating – confronted Gillani, threw him into a stone fountain, breaking his cheekbone and nose. Shortly after that, Gillani started carrying a gun, a .22 pistol. Police on a routine stop discovered the gun and charged Gillani with carrying a weapon. Gillani left town shortly after and set up shop in a rented $1 million house on Kipling Ave. in Etobicoke.
Gillani filled the driveway with cars – Hummers and Mercedes at first, then BMWs and a Porsche – and the house with an odd cast of characters including wannabe financiers, 20-something business students and a suspended lawyer. For muscle, he brought in an ex-Argonaut offensive guard."

CBC News - Montreal - Quebec Hells Angels owe property tax on bunkers

CBC News - Montreal - Quebec Hells Angels owe property tax on bunkers: "Hells Angels have outstanding property tax bills on their vacant bunkers.
The bike gang's chapters in Quebec were paralyzed a year ago after over 100 members were arrested in anti-gang raids. Seizure orders by the Justice Department of the gang's bunkers left them off-limits and unused.
Most of the gang members are in jail and unable to pay the property taxes.
'The Hells Angels owe us a little more than $12,000 altogether,' said Ivan Toutant, a spokesman for the city of Trois-Rivières.
The city has yet to receive the gang's property taxes for 2009, said Toutant, and nothing has been paid for 2010. He said that interest continues to accumulate.
According to Toutant, the building in Trois-Rivières will likely be repossessed and sold.
'We have to wait until the end of the jurisdictional procedures before the sale of the bunker,' said Toutant.
The Hells Angels also owe more than $2,000 in property tax on the bunker in Sherbrooke"

Four feet phallus causes offence in North Yorkshire village but shopkeeper vows to ‘Free Willy’

A North Yorkshire shopkeeper has had a key piece of stock confiscated by North Yorkshire Police after it caused a string of complaints.

Jason Hadlow, owner of Simply Dutch at Leeming Bar, has been issued with a public order offence and will face a fine if he wants to reclaim the garden ornament.

Jason recently received a new range of garden furniture including a four feet penis-shaped obelisk which went on display in Simply Dutch’s window at the end of March.

Following complaints from local people, North Yorkshire Police visited the store, removed the offending ornament, worth in the region of £200, and issued Jason with a public order offence for ‘displaying a sign or item liable to cause harassment, alarm or distress.’

Jason must now pay £80 by Friday 9th April to retrieve the item from Northallerton Police Station, or could face court action. However, the entrepreneur, from Yarm, is refusing to back down stating that the phallus is in keeping with Simply Dutch’s quirky ethos and has even started a ‘Free Willy’ campaign in store and on Facebook.

Jason said: “The world is a crazy place and I'm sure the local constabulary has better things to do. It’s just another example of overzealous policing and I couldn’t believe they were serious. We might have had one or two complaints but most of the customers loved it as they know what Simply Dutch is like and the type of things we stock.

“We’ve had naked stone strippers, Roman and Greek-style statues, African pothouses and all sorts of other weird pieces of furniture in the window which haven’t caused such a stir. So I am a little shocked, to say the least, that an £80 ransom is being demanded for the phallus

Hells Angels Motorcycle Club to abandon most of its territory in the city

court of appeal in Amsterdam has ordered the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club to abandon most of its territory in the city by 25 June. The Amsterdam city council is the owner of the land – situated along the Weesper Canal in the south east of the city – and wants to redevelop it with new housing. The Hells Angels have occupied the site for the last 36 years. Now they have been ordered to leave, the city council must compensate them for the construction of a new clubhouse.

34 people arrested reputed to be affiliated with the Zig Zag Crew and Hell’s Angels.

Blair Alford, 55, told court Thursday he was sorry for delivering 12 ounces of cocaine to a police informant known as "Agent 22" in a Lindenwoods parking lot in July 2009. Alford told court he was helping out someone he knew, but acknowledged he delivered the drugs.
Crown attorney Chris Mainella said Alford was motivated by greed to participate in the drug dealing.
"He only has himself to blame," said Mainella.
Mainella said the drug deal came together after Alford and four other men came together at a Lindenwoods Moxie’s restaurant in early July 2009 to discuss a cocaine trade. The deal involved a Vancouver-based associate of the Independent Soldiers gang, Daniel Hawkins, who was also arrested in the Project Divide bust.
In the days leading up the deal, court heard police collected a flurry of Blackberry PIN messages between Hawkins and the police informant setting up the deal.
On July 28, 2009, Alford got out of a GMC truck in the parking lot of a Lindenwoods Rona and then sat in a car with the informant, counting out drugs and cash, Mainella said.  Alford used an empty can of infant formula to carry the cocaine, and police watched him return to his Knowles Avenue shop with the cash, the court heard.
"He didn’t need to get involved with the likes of Mr. Hawkins to make ends meet," Mainella said of Alford, who owns a gravel trucking business.
Alford turned himself into police at the Public Safety Building days after the bust was announced.
Court heard the case against Alford relies on an unidentified police informant, who will receive up to $450,000 for helping officers video and audiotape suspects carrying out drug and gun deals. The police informant is now in the witness protection program, court heard. He became involved with the police because he was motivated by financial interest.
"Agents are what they are," said Mainella. "We don’t dress them up in crinoline."
Court of Queen’s Bench Justice William Burnett accepted a joint recommendation submitted by Mainella and defence lawyer Stephen Friesen. Alford will do a total of 40 months in jail, including three more years in custody and four months he’s already served.
"It’s not Freedom 55," said Mainella. Alford must also submit a DNA sample and have a 10-year weapons prohibition, Burnett ruled.
Court heard Thursday the wispy white-haired man has suffered financial hardship due to publicity around his arrest, which has strained his family.
"He insists he did not have financial benefit," said Friesen.
Alford has a daughter who attends classes at University of Manitoba who has had to work extra to support her family, court heard. No relatives were in court Thursday.
"I don’t really know why I did it," Alford said, adding later: "I’m very sorry for what I did
